Crypto Market Sees Surge as Bitcoin Nears $100K

The cryptocurrency market experienced a significant surge on Monday, January 6, 2025, with Bitcoin nearing the $100,000 mark. This surge follows a period of volatility and speculation surrounding the upcoming inauguration of President Trump.

Bitcoin, the largest and most expensive cryptocurrency, saw a 1.23% increase in value over the past 24 hours, bringing its price to $99,537. On Indian exchanges such as CoinDCX and Giottus, Bitcoin’s price rose by about one percent, reaching $103,114.

Other cryptocurrencies also experienced gains. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, saw a price rise of 1.08% in the last 24 hours, bringing its value to $3,683. Cardano, Avalanche, Polkadot, Uniswap, Litecoin, and Leo also saw profits alongside BTC and ETH.

The overall crypto market cap went up to $3.53 trillion. This surge in value is attributed to several factors, including positive speculations on Trump’s upcoming inauguration and bullish moves from Michael Saylor and Elon Musk.

Michael Saylor, CEO of Microstrategy, announced another purchase of $209 million worth of BTC. This move sparked a rally in the crypto market, with Bitcoin’s price surging 8% to hit the $98,000 mark.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, also contributed to the surge in crypto prices. Musk changed his profile name to “Kekius Maximus” and updated his avatar to feature PEPE’s “Pepe the Frog” meme in gladiator armor. This move triggered a dramatic 900% increase in the “Kekius Maximus” memecoin price, with PEPE 20% gains also seeing it emerge among the best performing asset top 30 ranked.

The crypto market is currently in a state of flux, with prices fluctuating wildly. However, the surge in value on Monday is a positive sign for the future of the cryptocurrency market.
